A Voiceleading Workout!

This pair of studies addresses an important skill - voiceleading chords up and down the neck by half step, scale tone, or common tone. Working on voiceleading will make your comping (including self-comping) more effective, your chord soloing smoother, and your chord melodies more coherent.

Here's how the studies are organized:

Top Note Study

A - Ascending by Half Step

A - Descending by Half Step

B - Ascending by scale tones (E major)

C - Common tone (top note stays the same)

Bottom Note Study

A - Ascending or Common Tone (C Major)

A - Descending by Half Step

B - Ascending or Common Tone (E major)

C - Descending or Common Tone (C major)
